Meet Your Instructor

Rashed Daher, Ph.D., is a Classical and Modern Standard Arabic lecturer at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, and Central European University. Skilled in translation, interpreting, simultaneous interpretation, teacher training, and international migration. He works as an Arabic-English-Hungarian interpreter in Hungary, serving as the personal interpreter of the Hungarian prime minister and foreign minister. See LinkedIn.

As an Assistant Professor, his main field of scholarly interest concerns Arabic linguistics, as well as security-related issues (migration, population dynamics, social and economic conflicts, environmental degradation, water security) in the Middle East, especially in Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria, in both historical and contemporary international relations perspective.

He is the founder of the Contemporary Arab World Center in Budapest and the teacher of the regularly organized special Hungarian Language Courses for native Arabs living in Hungary.
