Terms and Conditions

1. Conditions for admission

1.1 Intermediate knowledge of the Arabic language.

1.2 Proper knowledge of the English language.

2. Registration

2.1 Registration for the online school is done by a fully completed online application form.

2.2 Registration for the online course is possible until the date specified on the website.

2.3 After receipt of the registration form, the non-degree student will receive a confirmation by email.

2.4 After the receipt of all the required documents, an assessment is made to determine whether or not the student can be admitted.

2.5 All applications will have been processed shortly after the application deadline.

2.6 Accepted applicants will then receive a short email regarding the decision and further instructions.

2.7 The student declares that (s)he has taken note of and agrees to the conditions of the online course.

3. Course Fees

3.1 After the admission requirements have been met, the student must pay the course fee in order to be able to participate in the course.

3.2 The course fee must be paid before the deadline indicated.

3.3 After payment, an invoice will be provided as requested by the participant.

4. Participation

4.1 The student may participate in the course only after it has been established that he complies with the admission requirements for the course and has paid the accompanying course fee. In addition, the student must fall within the maximum number of participants.

4.2 If the course is oversubscribed, the student will be informed that (s)he has been placed on a waiting list.

4.3 Participation in the course is personal. Accounts and access to the learning environment are available only to natural persons.

4.4 In order to be able to participate in the course, the student must have an internet connection, electricity, microphone, web camera, and other necessary facilities.

5. Cancellation

5.1 The course provider reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course if there are fewer enrolments than the minimum number required or unforeseen circumstances.

5.2 If the course is cancelled on the initiative of the course provider, any course fees that have been paid will be refunded.

5.3 Cancellation of participation by the student must be made in writing or by email.

5.4 If a student cancels, the following costs are payable:

  1. If the student cancels before the payment deadline, the course fee minus a €50.00 administration fee will be refunded.
  2. If the student cancels after the payment deadline, 50% of the course fee plus a €50.00 administration fee is payable.
  3. If the student cancels after the start of the course or does not turn up for the course, 100% of the course is payable, and no refund will be made.
  4. In case of a documented unforeseen event, a personal agreement may be reached.  

5.5 Refunds will be paid to the student in euros. The provider does not pay any compensation for changes in exchange rates or other costs incurred.

6. Assessment

The course may contain an assessment comprising an evaluation of the student’s knowledge, insight, and skills in relation to the course given by the provider.

7. Certificate

In case of active participation and dedication, the course provides a certificate of participation, signed by the dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University, to support the student.

 

Code of Conduct

By signing up to and enrolling in a course, students agree to:

  • help to establish and maintain a positive and supportive online learning environment;
  • treat all other students and tutors and their opinions with respect, cultural sensitivity, and politeness;
  • be responsive and participate to the best of their ability
  • let the provider know if they cannot attend a class for any reason
  • be supportive and constructive when offering feedback to other students in collaborative group tasks;
  • turn off or keep their mobile phone on silent during a Virtual Class so as to not distract the rest of the group;

By signing up to and enrolling in a Course, students agree not to:

  • use any abusive terms, swear words, or language that may cause offence in the Virtual Classroom or the Course Site;
  • engage in behaviours motivated by hate or bias;
  • create a disturbance with interrupts or disquiets the proceedings of the learning environment;
  • engage in any behaviour that would be considered as conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school or injurious to the physical or mental well being of others;
  • write, use, send, download, or display any information that is hostile, insulting to others, obscene, threatening, or otherwise offensive.
  • post or upload inappropriate messages, content, unauthorised advertising, promotional material, or spam to the Course Site or the Virtual Classroom.
  • knowingly upload any file or program that contains a virus, malware, or other malicious code
  • reproduce course content including assessments, electronic mail correspondence, digital captures, discussion, or chat threads in any fashion and to any other server without explicit written permission from the school representative
  • use anyone else’s login account
