CULTURAL EVENTS

We are organizing cultural events in collaboration with Arab embassies and community representatives.

The first of these events, in April 2019, was the Arab Cultural Day organized jointly with the Council of Arab Ambassadors at ELTE, Faculty of Humanities. 14 Arab countries sent their delegates to the event. In his opening speech, Dr. László Kövér, President of the Hungarian Parliament, described the event as an important chapter in the increasingly stable Hungarian-Arab relations. Visitors had the chance to see the exhibition of the 14 Arab countries, learn about traditional Arabic cuisine and attend lectures and talks.

The pictures were taken during the United Arab Emirates’ Year of Tolerance Exhibition, on December 4, 2019. The exhibition was showcased at ELTE Faculty of Humanities, organized by the Contemporary Arab World Center in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, represented by Abdulhamid Al Mulla, the UAE ambassador to Hungary. The exhibition reflected inclusiveness, cultural diversity, acceptance of the other, respect, interfaith and intercultural dialogue, empathy, understanding, coexistence with others, harmony, and humanity.
